Independent Journalism in Phoenix Needs You
We need to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Though Eastside Records’ Christmas Eve Eve Memorial ushers the demise of one of the best old school record shops in the Valley, it’s a pretty badass way to go out.
After nearly 25 years in business, co-owners Steven Gastellum, Michael Pawlicki, and Ben Wood are pulling the plug on the iconic institution. For the shindig, they’ve invited former employees John Minardi and Ryan O’Sullivan to host and spin records for the shop’s last get-down. The event will also include sets of ‘90s garage rock, a Queen vs. Yes vs. ELO showdown, and a mystery hour of obscure gems and random favorites.
