When your punk rock lyrics are filled with powerful “real-life shit,” you don’t need a lot of filler between songs to convey intense energy to your audience. It’s all about the music. That’s why Illinois-based band The Copyrights forgoes a lot of pointless banter during their gigs in favor of a fast, sweaty show.
The rockers plow through 20 songs in 40 minutes. So you can bet the crowd at Yucca Tap Room will be riled up when hearing cuts from the band’s fifth, and what they call their best, album, North Sentinel Island. “We think the songs are catchy as hell,” says singer and bassist Adam Fletcher.
