Photographer-model-musician Emily Caldwell is a fresh face in the Phoenix art world. The artist opened Gallery Parallax on RoRo in May and her second show, “Women on Women,” takes a new look at nudity in art.

Caldwell says that the idea for a show featuring female nudes created by women photographers (including herself) and fine artists came from a discussion with a friend about how viewers respond to nudes based on the preconception that the photographer is male. “I hope that people can look at the images from a different perspective, to see the women in these various works the way these artists did while they were creating them,” she says.
