There are reasons enough to grab a cold beer. With summer’s heat already beating down, that one’s a gimme. A new beer festival is another. From 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, May 11, the inaugural Scottsdale Beer Festival brings together several dozen breweries from near and far for an evening of sudsy fun. Many of Arizona’s fine craft breweries will be present, along with a host of regional favorites from California, Washington, Oregon, and Montana. Traveling the farthest is Vermont’s Magic Hat. Their otherworldly #9 is a must-try for every beer aficionado. Fine Phoenix food trucks will offer up tasty grub to help soak up all that beer. Ask the chefs for food pairings. Chile beer and burritos — perfect for a hot night out. Local live music will keep the party rolling right along.
