Arizona State University’s Gallery 100 hosts “Harder Than it Seams,” a week-long group thesis exhibition by bachelor’s of fine arts candidates. The display, which ends Friday, May 2, chronicles the relationship between fibers and fabrics and the popular world. Fiber arts students Damian Alzua, Chelsea Lyles, Jill Miller, Amanda Shochat, and Leeanne Watson will all showcase their pieces — presenting a collective look at their accretion over their collegiate career in an effort to redefine textiles as an artistic medium.
Gallery 100 is the campus’ fourth on-site student gallery, featuring year-round presentations from photography to metalwork in conjunction with ASU’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts.
See the exhibition from noon until 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, at 951 South Mill Avenue on the Tempe campus. The gallery is open Mondays through Thursdays from noon to 5 p.m. and Fridays from noon until 3 p.m. Admission is free. Visit www.art.asu.edu/gallery/gallery100 for more.
