Good news, nerds. Another night of booze and brain-teasing is about to hit the Valley, this time led by a Space 55 regular and a mobile karaoke bike operator at FilmBar in Phoenix.

From 7 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, February 20, Nerd Nite 18 will cover everything from eccentric self-appointed emperors to everything you don’t hear in sing-a-long bar songs.
Kicking off the night will be local poet, playwright, and performer Ashley Naftule telling the true tale of San Francisco’s late Joshua Abraham Norton who, in 1859, declared himself Emperor of the United States.
Next up will be Sean Whitcomb presenting his talk, “The Dark Side of the Mic: Karaoke, Multi-Million Dollar Lawsuits, and Murder Karaoke,” followed by an hour of actual karaoke. So get ready to think, sing, and sling back a few beers as downtown’s nerd community gets together for another free night of thought-provoking mischief.
