Choreographed dance requires years of training, discipline, and skill. Not only is dance physically demanding, it also requires close cooperation with teammates and instructors. Unless you include the chicken dance or the macarena, most forms of dance do not come easily, and traditional Chinese dance is no exception. Dancers wear long, flowing costumes that are an integral piece of the performance. Eastern Art Academy’s dance troupe looks a bit like acrobatic ballerinas performing with ribbon dancers, which looks quite stunning in a group setting. The troupe returns for the Mid-Autumn Chinese Dance Festival, showcasing traditional Chinese dance with live music and an array of live dance performances.
