Ten years strong and these cats are still finding fresh ways to entertain.

At 8 p.m. Saturday, December 26, and Sunday, December 27, the Downtown Chamber Series will be keeping its every-so-often program of classical tunes all new and hip at the Icehouse. For one, the DCS have never performed gigs this close to Christmas. Also, they’ll be debuting their use of a fortepiano, a way-back-when instrument that Mozart used to compose on. And, finally, artist Kyle Jordre banged out some paintings that will hang just for these shows, which is also a new-fangled landmark for the decade-long series.

Sat., Dec. 26, 8 p.m.; Sun., Dec. 27, 8 p.m., 2009
