First Friday in Downtown Phoenix This month’s First Friday featured a madcap mixed bag of openings by some of the best local artists. The much-anticipated 5th annual Mutant Pinata Show opened at Bragg’s Pie Factory, Douglas Miles debuted his “Apacheria” exhibit at Por Vida gallery, and First Studio’s new group showcased works by Charles Darr, J.J. Horner, Eric Iwersen, Colton Brock, Nomas, and Casebeer.
1920s Soiree at Ghost Lounge The Arizona Theatre Company hosted a 1920s-style soiree on Friday night at Hotel San Carlos’ Ghost Lounge. The party was inspired by the ATC’s upcoming performance of The Great Gatsby, March 22-April 8. Dan Caballero and a series of other local artists painted live as flappers posed and partied.
Melrose on 7th Avenue Street Fair and Classic Car Show The Melrose on 7th Avenue Street Fair and Classic Car Show celebrated all things vintage on Saturday. The 11th annual street fair featured booths full of companies, community groups and plenty of local food.
Caramelpalooza 2012 at Smeeks Smeeks and Chow Bella hosted another fun Caramelpalooza Friday night, and boy, did that candy go quickly.
