When thinking of acrobatics, your first impressions might be of extremely well-lit gymnasiums, cold and sterile equipment, or some eastern European coach yelling unintelligible support to his pupils. Now, let’s try to envision all of the aspects that make the sport a positive impact on both performer and spectator, then add teamwork, colorful dress, high-tech special effects, furniture, and a dash of ancient culture.

Giving Cirque du Soleil a run for its money, these masters of balance, contortion, and flexibility encompass a folk artform that goes back as far as 221 B.C. Hundreds of years of development make these feats, accompanied by live musicians playing traditional instruments in sync with digital-age lighting effects, unforgettable.
