People-watching can be fun in the Valley, but you’re really limited by the variety of folks you’ll find. You’ve got your Scottsdale cougars, your college-age bros, your hipsters — the repetition gets old pretty quick.
With the variety of wild life found at Estrella Mountain Regional Park, however, you’re guaranteed to see new things. On Saturday, August 11, Joe Ford of the Sonoran Audubon Society will lead a walking tour through the diverse habitat, pointing out feathered friends along the way. One of the best places for bird-watching in the Phoenix area, the park is home to more than 150 different species, including roadrunners and juvenile bald eagles. Hipsters? Not so much.
