Thanksgiving isn’t easy for vegetarians and vegans. Between cursing your relatives for putting chicken stock in everything and having your crazy uncle beg you to “just take one bite of turkey, it won’t count,” the holiday is stressful for those who eschew meat. If you’re stick of eating Tofurkey by yourself and hoarding veggie sides, Green has a solution: Thanksliving. Now in its sixth year, the vegan feast eases the Turkey Day woes of herbivores with a multi-course meal featuring seitan turkey breast with cranberry and walnut stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes, and the deliciously difficult choice between pecan and pumpkin pie for dessert. This family-friendly event also features vegan vendors, kids’ crafts, and music.
Enjoy a meatless Thanksgiving from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, November 28, at Green New American Vegetarian, 2240 North Scottsdale Road Suite 8 in Tempe. Adult meals are $24.95 in advance and can be purchased to go. Call 480-941-9003 or visit www.greenvegetarian.com/thanksliving.
