ASU Homecoming is this week, and amidst the jocks, cheerleader types, and party animals, you’ll find studious folks itching to join the festivities. If your immediate reaction to Mitt Romney singling out Big Bird for extinction was “WTF?!,” find your flock at the second annual Arizona PBS Nerd Walk.
PBS’s broad programming palette appeals to a lot of stripes of brainiacs: the wonks who watch locally produced Horizon, the Anglophiles who devour every episode of Masterpiece’s Downton Abbey, and the science geeks who marvel at the knowledge dropped by Nova. They’ll all be donning maroon and gold as they nerd out, chill with the Arizona DeLorean Club, and name this year’s Nerd-in-Chief.
