With the foundation’s cause in mind, the selection is mainly business-friendly apparel, including suits, pumps,
and button-up blouses by Gap, J Crew, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, to name a few.
According to store manager, Claudia Canterbury, almost everything in the store was donated by community members — even the fixtures and décor — and proceeds directly benefit the empowerment programs offered by the foundation.
Fresh Start was founded in 2002 by Pat Petznick and Beverly Stewart, with the hopes of empowering women through self-esteem programs, job-training, and other help services through the Jewell McFarland Lewis-Fresh Start Women’s Resource Center.
Fresh Start Treasures is on the southwest corner of 40th Street and Thomas. For donations contact phatfield@fswf.org. Click here for more information.
