It takes us forever to keyboard-pick these words each week, so when we hear about the career trajectory of individuals more talented, creative, and ambitious than we, we’re immediately struck by depression and lowered feelings of self-worth. But this is America, after all. You work hard, you get ahead. You start out as second fiddle to Bill Maher, then move on to comedy-show-hosting gigs (Talk Soup) and roles in TV and film (Nip/Tuck, The Ghost Whisperer, The Santa Clause). That’s the path taken by the lovely Aisha Tyler, an Ivy League alum, published author, standup comedian, and home-brew enthusiast. She’s tall, hot, funny, and, not least, played the one and only recurring black character on Friends (!).
