Whiny feminists swayed at Lilith Fair, angsty teens flocked to Lollapalooza, and metalheads banged their brains out at Ozzfest. The latest in a long liine of quirky music festivals, KISS FM’s Phooson 2008 features Rihanna, Fall Out Boy, Katy Perry, Jesse McCartney, Varsity Fanclub, Tokio Hotel, and the (vocally) well-endowed Pussycat Dolls. The concert’s crazy name is a combination of “Phoenix” and “Tucson” – a hat tip to the original location in Pinal County, between the two cities. This year, the organizers got smart and realized no one’s shelling out $25 to $150 to drive out to BFE, so they booked it at Cricket Wireless Pavilion.
