That’s why we know you’ll be in Glendale when University of Phoenix Stadium hosts preliminary rounds for the CONCACAF Gold Cup. Sure, it’s disappointing that the surging U.S. men’s team is playing elsewhere, but for soccer fans in Arizona, the two featured matches – a 2 p.m. contest between Central American arch rivals Panama and Nicaragua, followed immediately by a tilt between Mexico and Guadeloupe – figure to be the only world-class soccer you’ll see in person all year.
