Reader support matters more than ever
We're in the final stretch of our summer campaign. Our goal is to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the journalism our community relies on. Reader support is helping shape the future of local news.
For those of you who are annoyed with the increasing ubiquity of speed cameras, we have a solution: Head down to the Checker O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 Weekend at Phoenix International Raceway – which will be hosting four races from the Great Redneck Institution on four consecutive days beginning tonight – and watch them cameras explode.
The track hosts competitions with hokey sponsor relations (what else to say about Saturday’s Hefty Odor Block 200?) along with tonight’s Copper World Classic, Friday’s Lucas Oil 150, and Sunday’s biggie, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Checker O’Reilly Auto Parts 500. There will be ample chance for Valley enthusiasts to get their Ricky Bobby on and check out the track’s newest bar.
