Remember that iconic opening to The Andy Griffith Show — just a boy and his pa heading down to the fishin’ hole? Even though we’re a long way from Mayberry, we’ll be whistling that tune at the Spring Fishing Frenzy.

Park rangers will help provide instruction on basic angling techniques as the sky starts to transition from sunset to dusk, giving ample time for the fishies to bite. You can bring your own equipment or newbies may use park provided fishing poles, tackle, and bait.

The all-ages event will be held at Papago Park.

Wed., April 28, 5:30-7:30 p.m., 2010
