The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
You know those performances that you can’t get out of your head, even years later? For us, that’s the Taraf Degrief show from the summer of 2007. The group – composed of pianist Jacob Adler and unplugged vocalist DJ Richard – performed impassioned traditional Jewish songs written by Adler’s great-uncle before the uncle’s untimely death during a snowstorm in Prague. (The must-read story can be found at www.tarafdegrief.blogspot.com.) Needless to say, we’ll be front and center at Trunk Space when the duo ushers in Rosh Hashanah with a rare performance.
