It takes a strange dude to give back the scratch earned from a standup-comedy gig that paid 30 grand. But that’s just what Katt Williams did following an ’07 New Year’s Eve performance at Chicago’s Arie Crown Theater. Katt’s spin on the refund was that audience members had trouble hearing the routine, but many believe the multifaceted entertainer bombed while unveiling new material. The slip-up might also be the result of the heavy workload the self-proclaimed “pimp” has carried since hitting it big. Over the past two years alone, Williams has starred in six movies, hosted his own HBO special (Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1), and dropped a comedy rap album with help from Ludacris and Snoop Dogg. Whatever the reason, let’s hope he brings his A-game — and a good microphone —— when he blows up the Dodge Theatre.
