Green Lights

Glow sticks are normally the tools of kindergarten age kiddies or ravers with candy bracelets and furry legwarmers – not exactly the type of accessory that you’d find on a polo-wearing golfer.

These disparate worlds will come together for Night Flight Golf, teeing off at the Palo Verde Golf Course. The nine-hole course will be lined with neon, and each player will receive a lighted necklace and glow-in-the-dark ball. Flashlights will be used to signal the next team up to the tee.

Because it’ll be difficult to spot even a glowing ball on the green or in a sand trap, most of the participants are probably just out to have fun. If you’re more serious about the sport, the four-person scramble tournament will offer prizes and swag bags. And lest you fear getting run over by a nearsighted old geyser in a golf cart during your quest, rest assured that everyone is required to be on foot for the after-dark game.
