Singer/songwriter, comedian, and Tony Award-nominated actor Stephen Lynch makes it feel so right to laugh at the so very sick and wrong.

Just listen to 3 Balloons, his fourth album (released in March 2009), which is just as funny, disgusting, and inappropriate as his first three efforts. Don’t believe us? Then pop in an album and listen to his twisted takes on AIDS, abortions, an unruly bush (not the presidential kind), Christ, and menstruation, which he augments with an acoustic guitar and a syrupy voice.

Lynch – whose résumé includes multiple Comedy Central Presents specials as well as a starring role in the Broadway version of The Wedding Singer – performs at the Orpheum Theatre.

Fri., Jan. 8, 8 p.m., 2010
