The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
Giddy up, Skelly! We’re galloping your bleached bones to the 2009 incarnation of Rawhide’s annual haunted attraction, Doomtown: Refuge of the Unwanted, and keeping our eyes peeled for the headless horsemen and the “extra goblins and goo” at the Old West townlet. Kids of all ages will appreciate the fear factor of the Train of Terror, the Haunted Hike, and the grandstanding Rawhide Roughriders, who can outperform any back-flipping zombie.
Prefer more blood in your mouth? Opt for one of Rawhide’s twin haunted houses: The Asylum, based on an 1870s mental institution, or The Crypt, where the dead refuse to stay that way, guarded from trespassers by the evil Crypt Keeper who can’t wait to bury you.
Oct. 2-4, 6 p.m.; Wednesdays-Sundays, 6 p.m. Starts: Oct. 2. Continues through Nov. 1, 2009
