It wouldn’t be Halloween without the members of Scorpius Dance Theatre staging the annual production of the evocative and provocative work A Vampire Tale. This sensual yet scary yarn, penned and produced by Scorpius’ Lisa Starry, involves an innocent ingénue who’s led astray into the seductive underworld of vampires. Despite its obvious parallels to the loathsome Twilight saga, there’s nary a sparkly bloodsucker to be seen during a performance of A Vampire Tale, just a graceful array of talented performers executing modern dance moves and arresting aerial maneuvers. The troupe will wrap up this year’s edition with a four-night run at Phoenix Theatre Little Theatre, 100 East McDowell Road, starting on Wednesday, October 31, and running through November 3. Performances are at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Tickets start at $35. Call 602-254-2151 or see www.scorpiusdance.com.
