Getting decked out in your finest steampunk digs is fun, but your goggles, corset, monocle, and ray gun are bound to attract a few stares from the unsuspecting public. That can prove quite the conundrum for anyone who enjoys dressing like a Wild Wild West extra. But those dress-up fanatics will be in good company at the Steampunk Street Poker Tournament, where card sharks will play Tesla hold ’em and the top three winners will have their prizes revealed by a Tesla coil.
“You can’t go too crazy with changing poker as purists will have your hide,” says event organizer Bob Leeper. “So it’s going to be like Texas hold ‘em, but … we’ll be playing with steampunk themed poker cards.”
