Anyone who’s ever wriggled into or out of pink tights and a black leotard while somebody’s mother draped a beach towel as an imaginary changing room knows there’s something magical about a dance recital.

Two hundred Ballet Centre dancers take the stage at Chandler Center for the Arts for Be Happy, the center’s end-of-year performance curated by Ballet Centre Artistic Director Marilyn Bostic, who has more than 25 years of teaching experience and is a former leading soloist with the University of Texas Ballet. Styles on display will include classical ballet, jazz, tap, Broadway show dances, and hip-hop, and all of the center’s dance instructors are or were professional dancers. (Bostic’s school’s claim to fame is its small, specialized classes that focus on individualized attention.)
