Phoenix may be better known for its urban sprawl than its sprawling green spaces,, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t cool spots for city kids to get a little taste of life on the farm. In the middle of our concrete jungle, you’ll find family-owned and -operated Tolmachoff Farms, where four generations have grown and sold produce.
Once a year they invite other families to experience the fun, and on Saturday, June 1, they’ll host their annual Family Farm Day, a food fest complete with watermelon eating, corn husking contests, and train rides. There will be a Pinterest-perfect photo opportunity for the kids to sit atop a pony and plenty of summer-themed activities for the family to enjoy.

The agri-cational experience runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tolmachoff Farms, 5726 North 75th Avenue in Glendale. Admission costs $5 per person, and kids under two years old get in free. For more information, call 623-386-1301 or visit www.tolmachoff-farms.com.

Sat., June 1, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., 2013
