Halloween is still over a month away, but it’s certainly not too early to start setting an eerie mood. “Creatures” might be a good place to start. The group show at the Firehouse Gallery features fantastical creations that come from the furthest reaches of fairy tales, science fiction, and mythology. The show brings together over 25 artists, with special featured work from James B. Hunt (who also goes by NXOEED). Hunt will also be holding one of his famous art treasure hunts (this one is called “ORBIS”) in conjunction with “Creatures” for October’s First Friday.
“Creatures” opens at 1015 North First Street at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 13. The show runs through Saturday, October 4, with an art hunt running in conjunction with the show on Friday, October 3. For more information, check out www.facebook.com/firehousephoenix or call 602-300-7575.
Fridays, 6-11 p.m.; Saturdays, 1-11 p.m.; Sundays, 1-6 p.m. Starts: Sept. 12. Continues through Oct. 4, 2014
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
