Those show-biz types — writers, performers, carnies — they just plain make up a lot of stuff. Shameful! So when Citrus Valley Playhouse creator Brian Nissen mentions LOCUBTZPIVVL (Lack of Connection und Belonging to Ze Place in Vich Ve Live) Syndrome — a sociological phenomenon first observed by Dr. Dieter Zigheim — we suspect that Dr. Zigheim won’t be available for comment. LOCUBTZPIVVL, however, is an all-too-real epidemic. But there’s relief in the form of The Napolinator and the Ex-Guvs for Justice!, a live, kinda-like-the-radio variety show from the same loopy history buffs who delivered Arpaio-palooza! last March. Ev Mecham has the power to stun people with his speech. Rose Mofford uses her battering-ram hairdo. Fife Symington hurls pastries.” And that’s just one sketch in an evening of community-building lunacy that is “a little bit like A Prairie Home Companion,” Nissen says. “It’s broken up into segments: The Blind Ranger, Mullets Over America, Turning Back the Clock — this time we’re doing the story of the Code Talkers — musical guests . . . Wallace [Bill Thompson of Wallace & Ladmo] . . . ”
