We all wear masks, to a certain degree. We hide some aspects of our life, intentionally or unintentionally, with some secrets far more sinister than others. But what happens when that mask isn’t just hiding a little of what’s underneath but instead hides an entirely different identity? At some point you just have to break free.

The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin tells the tale of a black girl growing up in SoCal around blonde white girls who squeal “Like, OMG!” and “As if!” When you want to fit in, you have to play the game.
