Besides possessing a penchant for PBR and neon-colored sunglasses, hipsters seem to have a natural tendency to annoy others. Maybe it’s their elitist attitudes or garish fashion sensibilities, but there’s something about these pretentious peeps that always manages to agitate others.

Indie auteur Todd Berger must’ve been plenty annoyed with L.A. hepcats when he created his 2009 film The Scenesters, as the farcical whodunit not only skewers the young-and-hip crowd with satirical barbs but also with the business end of a knife. A serial killer is murdering up pretty young scenesters in the city’s trendy Silverlake neighborhood, and it’s up to the unlikely detective duo of a crime scene cleaner and an avant-garde filmmaker to solve the comical caper.
