High fashion in the Phoenix area is still associated with statements like, “Why, yes, I did get this at Macy’s.” In this town, you’re more likely to be judged by the overall hue and breadth of your tan than for your taste in Balenciaga footwear. This may change some when Barney’s opens in Scottsdale next year, but probably not. And that’s fine. We get it. Flip-flops are easy (and boring). Those with more daring should check out the Chado Ralph Rucci exhibit, which features 25 fancy-dancy ensembles created by the New York design luminary.
