One lingering touch of erudition — that’s erudite lite — is Theater League’s Broadway musical series. Come about now, when our other options are pool parties or knuckleheaded movies, we like the notion of someone really beltin’ out a showtune. We like it even better when the tune’s from a musical based on a knuckleheaded movie, as in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, the brassy David Yazbeck/Jeffrey Lane entry based on Frank Oz’s 1988 Steve Martin/Michael Caine flick about a group of cons working the French Riviera.
