The record-spinning, knob-twisting, and beat-juggling DJs of the Valley’s club scene can sometimes be quite the competitive lot. Every weekend the turntable titans of nights such as Solstice and the Shop attempt to drop the dopest tracks in an effort to encourage cash-spending urbanites aplenty to visit their swanky shindigs.

Come New Year’s Eve, however, competition gives way to cooperation as the mix-masters from five different weeklies are uniting their efforts to present a big-league bash at Club Red, 2155 East University Drive in Tempe. A dozen different spinsters (including members of the Blunt Club, fauxShow, Gosh Damn!, and the aforementioned dance events) will participate in a DJ massive entitled New Years Eve 2010 featuring two rooms of music. While the Red Owl side showcases Pete “Supermix” Salaz and Senbad broadcasting house all evening, Club Red promises the likes of Pickster One, Sean Watson, Benjamin Cutswell, and Bigie on the wheels of steel until 4 a.m.

Live art, free food from Pita Jungle, and drink specials are also planned.
