Ignite Phoenix is in its eighth round and promises a star-studded cast of 18 presenters (including Kimber Lanning on “Buying Yourself Broke” and Michael Barber on “The Love of Donuts”) who will each give a five-minute talk on their current projects or favorite ideas.

While tickets to the event tomorrow night are sold out, there are still a couple ways you might be able to nab a couple, and we’ve included a rundown of what you can expect after the jump …

Speakers: 18 presentations, all given by local individuals passionate about, well, all sorts of things. Here’s just a taste:

Art: Besides the performance art included in five-minute presentations, a boat load of visual art comes with an Ignite ticket, and it’s just across the sidewalk. The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art announced that it will give free admission to ticket holders on Oct. 15, starting at 5 p.m..

Music: While there are still rumored to be a few special musical guests, we do know that Zachary Dodds of the Sunset Electrics and What Laura Says will be playing throughout the event. (What Laura Says will perform an acoustic set at the Atrium State before the event, at 6 p.m.)

Food: Think the usual party appetizers and a cash-only bar … If you want to bring a can or two of food, Ignite and Gangplank are hosting the Mother of All Food Drives and will be collecting nonperishable items for Chandler Foodbank.

Tickets: Tickets are sold out, but coordinators of Ignite are asking those who cannot make the event to give a notice so that their tickets can be redistributed … for free. Catch: They won’t be giving out these “donated” tickets until 5 p.m. the day of the event and there’s a limit of two per person.

We’re also told that you might be able to snag a ticket by checking Craigslist and following the #ignitephx Twitter hashtag, as tickets are often given away last minute when ticket holders find out they cannot go.

Ignite Phoenix is on October 15 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Virginia G. Piper Theater at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, 7380 E. 2nd Street. For more information, visit the Ignite Phoenix website.
