Think about how much your life has changed in eight years and all of the knowledge you’ve picked up along the way. Then it starts to make sense why Afro Classics sound as good as they do.
In 2001, MCs Very and Scarub, staples of the L.A. underground hip-hop scene, released their first album under the AC moniker. Then nothing for nearly a decade (though the two have been way busy on their respective solo projects).
Now the Classics are back with the aptly titled The Classic EP. Previewable at www.legendarymusic.net/afroclassics, the duo is representing the rap game, 2009 style, but with an improved, older-school sensibility, complete with beat-driven tunes and cuss-less hooks wrapped in positivity.
