Wowie-wow-wow! Time for Childsplay’s recurring holiday presentation of Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells! If you are or were a kid (or close friends with one), you’ve probably read some of Barbara Park’s books about Junie. The stage version of JBBS delights both old or new fans: Mr. Scary’s classroom comes to life in charming detail, and Junie’s dilemma — what to do when she draws her arch-enemy’s name for Secret Santa — is fleshed out with flashbacks and complications.
The show runs through Sunday, December 28, at Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 West Rio Salado Parkway. Tickets, $12 to $25, are available at www.childsplayaz.org or 480-350-2822.
