It’s onward and eastward for Jester’Z Improv Comedy.
The family-friendly comedy club, established in 2001, said goodbye to its Papago Plaza location of 13 years with a final show on Saturday, July 26. But don’t take the Scottsdale departure as a sign of bad things to come. If anything, Jester’Z is moving on to bigger and better things with a newly opened space at 1061 North Dobson Road, Suite 114, in Mesa.

In addition to offering “10 times the visual wow-factor,” as co-creator and owner Shurlin Rawls puts it, the new Jester’Z location is twice as large and offers twice as much seating as its old Scottsdale venue.
Jester’Z opened its doors in Mesa on Friday, August 1, but its grand opening won’t be held until Saturday, September 20. The grand opening event will feature networking booths for Jester’Z and other Mesa Riverview businesses from 5 to 9 p.m., outdoor entertainment from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:20 p.m., a special Jester’Z show with stand-up, sketch, and improv from 7 to 8:30 p.m. ($25 admission), and a regular Jester’Z improv show from 9 to 10:30 p.m. ($13 admission).
Jester’Z is currently offering regularly scheduled performances at its new Mesa location at 7 and 9 p.m. every Friday and Saturday. For more information or to purchase tickets for the special grand opening performance, visit www.jesterzimprov.com.
