The founders of The Latin Comedy Jam call it Loco Comedy. Considering the wide mix and backgrounds of the six comedians on the bill, said descriptor is probably apt. Presented by radio stations Power 98.3 and Latino Vibe, Michele Melean and Ernie G. top the bill.
Melean has appeared on Showtime’s Hot Tamales special, Fox’s Mad TV, and played George Lopez’s girlfriend on Reno 911. Ernie G is a renowned standup performer who has saturated the airwaves with appearances on Comedy Central’s Make Me Laugh, BET’s Cosmic View, and Galavision’s Que Locos, among others.
Warming up the crowd for the above duo are former aerospace engineer Shyla Riveria, Carlos Oscar, who’s a Tonight Show regular, Angeleno Neo Gonzalez, and Juan Garcia, the young face of modern Latino comedy.
