Artist Joseph “Sentrock” Perez, who’s from Phoenix but now lives in Chicago, and Phoenix-based designer Joshua Rhodes, who often works under the name Subtle Takeover, are finalists in Chicago shoe company Bucketfeet’s artist contest. It works like this: 10 finalists from across the country vie for the public’s votes in hopes of having their original work produced on Bucketfeet’s slip-ons or lace-ups.

All of Bucketfeet’s shoes are adorned with work from artists. The company works to provide a platform and audience for talented creatives and original, eye-catching footwear for customers.

The artist who garners the most support in this contest will have his/her shoe design manufactured and sold — that’s in addition to winning a trip and tickets to Lollapalooza, cash, and other perks. Two runners-up win cash, shoes, and social media exposure.
As of this writing, Sentrock leads the pack with 548 votes, and Rhodes has a respectable 131.
Fans can vote once a day at www.bucketfeet.com and enter to win a pair of Bucketfeet shoes. Votes can be placed for multiple entries. Voting for the contest ends at 11:59 p.m. Friday, May 31.
