Finally. The holiday hubbub is over and we can start getting to celebrations that aren’t overblown and over-lame. One such shindig that has actually stayed true to its original intention is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which takes place this year on Monday, January 19.

The PHX will celebrate in style with the MLK Festival and March. The latter leaves from Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 1401 East Jefferson Street, at 9 a.m. and meanders through downtown before arriving at Margaret T. Hance Park, 1106 North Central Avenue, for the all-day fest.
