There’s an old Irish saying: Giorraíonn beirt bóthar. It means “two shorten the road.” The roads you’ll travel on the Kiss Me I’m Irish Run, then, should seem pretty damn short. Hundreds of lads and lasses will partake in this event’s 17K run and 8K, 4K and 1K run/walks, live Irish music and dancing, and Irish costume contests. The Run’s family-friendly and even pets are welcome — when we say everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, we mean everyone.

The Irish Run begins at the top o’ the mornin’ — 7:17 a.m. — Saturday, March 14, at Westgate City Center, 6770 North Sunrise Boulevard in Glendale. Race registration starts at $10. Call 480-609-3978 or visit irishrunaz.com for more.

Sat., March 14, 7:17 a.m., 2015
