In Mexico, it’s not Santa Claus wearing the pants around Christmastime. In fact three men share the gift-giving responsibility of the season: The Three Kings or los Reyes Magos. In fact they even get their own night, la Noche de Reyes, on the 12th Day of Christmas, full of celebration of the three men who brought gifts to baby Jesus. Similarly, those three kings are said to bring presents to children and leave them by the kids’ shoes. Cute, right? Celebrate la Noche de Reyes at the Phoenix Zoo, 455 North Galvin Parkway, on Sunday, January 4, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. during ZooLights. You may even be lucky enough to meet the Kings. To buy tickets to ZooLights, $16, and for more information, visit phoenixzoo.org.
