Art projects can be daunting. By the time you purchase the materials, get space organized, and find your inspiration, getting into the groove can seem overwhelming.
With Cyndi Coon’s “Visual Art Journaling” workshop at MADE art boutique, all that stress is removed. You’ll leave with something meaningful you can continue to work on whenever, no matter how much time you have or don’t have.
During the three-hour workshop, Coon (full disclosure: Coon is a New Times contributor) guides crafters through creating an artistic journal, where, instead of Dear Diary-type writing, pages are filled with collages inspired by Coon’s prompts, such as, “Things I haven’t said out loud,” and “Pretty soon I’ll . . .”
Participants use unique materials such as ledger paper, security envelopes, pockets, and Japanese washi tape to create their pages. “It’s instantly fulfilling because you can sit down, and if you have 10 minutes, you can make a great page,” says Coon.
