It really is a mad, mad world. Kids pop hyperactivity pills like candy, while adults Facebook-post creepy serial killer drawings penciled while they were hopped up on sleep aids.
Montreal’s 7 Fingers circus addresses insomnia, paranoia, amnesia and other mental conditions in PSY, on stage at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. Troupe members leap, fly, and somersault around a stage populated with visual illusions that give the viewer a peek inside the human mind.
In one act, performers walk up and down a moving staircase reminiscent of the famous Escher drawing. Another finds a couple in a makeshift house doing acrobatics on a fireman’s pole after failing to get some rest on a fluffy pillow. 7 Fingers’ act might drive a sane person crazy, but at least you’d know you’re not alone.
