One new idea for every day in 2011. We’re talking big, small, local,
international, in action and on the drawing board. Here’s today’s —
what’s yours?

In September 2010, an artist landed in New York with a camera, a gnome mask, and an idea.

His new life, in photographs posted on his Tumblr and Facebook page, became the story of a gnome finding his way through the Big City.

“Now that a few weeks have passed since I left home, I have to wonder what the gnomes back at the garden think of my journey,” he writes in his first entry. “Do they believe in what I’m doing? Do they sit under trees discussing and making guesses about where I may be?”

His project became Gnome Bomb, which has gathered followers who search for the artist in action and who leave comments on his latest photos: “I loved you in Gnomeo & Juliet!”
