It’s time to saddle up for a cause, because the Phoenix Spokes People are calling out to Valley cyclists to join them on a group ride to Chase Field for an afternoon baseball game.

The evening will start at The Original Hamburger Works, 2801 North 15th Avenue, for happy hour at 4 p.m. Friday, August 8. The group will then make the four-mile ride to the ballpark on a casual, all-ages and all-experience-levels-welcome ride, which will utilize as many bike lanes as possible. Once the game is over, riders can meet back up at Gate J at the field around 10 p.m. to bike back with the group.

While the event is a fun way to get out and bike around town with your fellow cycling enthusiasts, the best part is that the $12 ticket price (which is normally $22) includes a $2 donation to the bike advocacy group. Will you step up to support New Times this year?

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
