That Phoenix native Becky Nahom curated the group show “From The Sidelines” isn’t a sign the the curator is exhibiting her newfound love of sports. Instead, the show features works that use the element of line and show how the sometimes overlooked element interacts with color, shape, and texture in art. Nahon says the show “pushes line to the limit without the use of representational form.” Sounds like a game-changer to us.

On view at ASU’s Night Gallery through September 1, the show features works from Christina Mesiti, Bobby Zokaites, William LeGoullon, and more. The art space is located at Tempe Marketplace, 2000 East Rio Salado Parkway, and hours Tuesday, July 30, are 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is free. Visit www.art.asu.edu/nightgallery.

Tuesdays-Sundays, 6-9 p.m. Starts: June 7. Continues through Sept. 1, 2013
