Watercolor is a finicky medium — one that depends on its surroundings as well as the careful skill of its artist who determines how the paint will pool and dry. 35 local masters of this medium, along with members of the Arizona Watercolor Association, will showcase their work at Mesa Contemporary Arts.

“Best of Arizona Watercolor Association” was jurored by the gallery’s curator, Patty Haberman, and artist Betsy Dillard Stroud, and will feature work from Ardelle Antonelli, Norbert Baird, Marjorie Barritt, Gerald Buechner, Mickey Daniels, Mary Dove, Bonnie Ender, James Farrah, Ellen Fountain, Kimberly Harris, Julie Gilbert Pollard, Harold Raap, Karen T. Riehm, Pam Rusch, Peggy Sample, Marilyn Schutzky, and Bruce Sink, to name a few.

Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.; Sundays, noon; Fri., Jan. 27, 6-8 p.m. Starts: Dec. 16. Continues through April 8, 2011
